A note from my 14 year old daughter in honor of Rashi's Birthday day tonight. She would have been 41.

Tonight is the birthday of someone special. It's my mothers birthday. My mother inspires me to keep living the way I do.

It has been 3 tough years of my life. These past years I've learned so many new things. As you grow older you learn new things. I am still in the middle of growing up and I have learned a million new things.

One thing that always bothered me was being different. I always thought that people judged me for wearing skirts, or wearing long sleeves on a hot day. I thought, wherever I went people made fun of me. I kept thinking that people looked at me in a bad way for being who I am. sexy long dresses

But one thing that I have learned that will stick with me is that, I am Jewish and I am proud that this is who I am. If people wanna look at me in a bad way then they can, and I should not let it bother me.

My goal in life is to respect my families ways, Hashem, and the Torah. I realize that people look at me for being the Jewish girl, and they copy what I do. I realize that I am a role model.

I was having a conversation with someone about this topic and they told me that I should not have to be embarrassed by the way I dress. These words will stick with me forever.

I will never forget that I am a young Jewish girl who has more to overcome through my life time.

I know that my mother is looking down on me and being proud of who I am. I hope to keep my mother happy by who I become in the future.
