Celebrity fans return to NHL.com for Stanley Cup Playoffs

NHL.com, the official website of the National Hockey League and the leading online community for hockey fans, once again will feature exclusive blogs written by celebrities from television, movies and music during the Stanley Cup™ Playoffs. For the third straight year, celebrity fans will share their love of hockey, impressions of their favorite team’s performance and their predictions, all while giving fans a glimpse inside their worlds.

Actors David Boreanaz (”Bones”), Dave Annable (”Brothers & Sisters”) and Eddie Cahill (”CSI: NY”) are veteran bloggers for NHL.com, who have been chronicling their favorite teams since the program’s inception in 2007. Hockey fans will have the opportunity to post comments and interact with each celebrity blogger on NHL.com and Twitter.com/NHLCelebBlogs. “Haunted” screencaptures

Haunted is an American television program first aired in September 2002 on UPN. The program was cancelled in November 2002 due to low ratings. As a result, only seven of the completed episodes were aired. However, all eleven filmed episodes have subsequently been shown in international airings of the show. The series will begin airing on SCI FI in September 2007 and January 2008.

Eddie did a guest participation in two episodes, “Three Hour Tour” and “Simon Redux”. I added captures of both episodes in our gallery.

Film Festival presents Arizona Premiere of “The Narrows”

The Sedona International Film Festival is proud to present the Arizona Premiere of “The Narrows” at the April installment of the Second Tuesday Cinema Series. There will be two screenings of the film at 4:00 and 7:00 p.m. on April 14 at Harkins Sedona Six Theatres.

“The Narrows,” a new feature film based on the novel “Heart of the Old Country,” features a stellar ensemble cast including Emmy-nominee Vincent D’Onofrio, Kevin Zegers, Sophia Bush and Eddie Cahill. The film which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival, has been playing to critical and audience acclaim at festivals around the globe.

Tatiana Blackington, who adapted the Tim McLoughlin novel for the screen and also co-produced the film, will be present in Sedona to host the film and conduct a Q&A session after both screenings.

“The Narrows” is a gripping, heartfelt story about life’s crossroads, and how difficult it can be to choose which way to go. Mike Manadoro (Kevin Zegers), a young man from the Bay Ridge area of Brooklyn, wants nothing more than to leave the old neighborhood and study photography at a prestigious Manhattan university. The problem is Mike’s father Vinny (Vincent D’Onofrio), a retired sanitation worker-turned-bookie, is on disability and does not have the financial means to support his son’s dream.

When local mob boss Tony (Titus Welliver) offers Mike a well-paid job delivering a mysterious package, he thinks he has found his ticket to freedom. Mike soon saves enough money to enter college and there he meets the beautiful and intellectual Kathy Popovich (Sophia Bush). She is the complete opposite of every girl he has ever met, but in order to keep her around, he needs to hide his new gig.

However, when Mike’s tough childhood buddy Nicky Shades (Eddie Cahill) gets back from Afghanistan and is looking for a job, trouble ensues. In this world of small-time crime, friendship and loyalty are in short supply. The stakes only get higher as it becomes clear Mike must quickly decide which way his life is going to turn, and that no matter what he chooses, there will be consequences.

“The Narrows” was directed by François Velle. Born in France, Velle first worked as a child actor. After a few years as a director’s assistant in film and television, he became a TV writer/director in his home country. His work received seven nominations and two wins at the D’Or awards, the French equivalent to the Emmys. Velle made his feature film debut as writer and director with the comedy, “Comme des Rois” (Kings for a Day). The film earned not only critical praise, but also the attention of DreamWorks executives who have acquired the remake rights.

“When I read ‘Heart of the Old Country’, a crime drama set in Brooklyn, I was amazed by its authenticity and how the author Tim McLoughlin avoided the clichés that can come with such familiar territory. And for good reason — Tim’s own experience is behind every page and on every street corner,” said Velle. “I knew it would be a challenge to convey both the sweetness and the cruelty of this fading world.”

“I was honored when screenwriter Tatiana Blackington sent me ‘Heart of the Old Country,’ and recommended me to direct the film version,” added Velle.

Blackington will be in Sedona to host “The Narrows” and the Q&A sessions following both screenings. A native of Washington, DC, Blackington studied French and Russian at New York University and in Paris, then received a Masters degree in writing at the University of Southern California.

The title sponsor for the event is Pasidg Productions: Tommy Stovall and Marc Sterling. The co-sponsor is Vora Financial. The lodging host is Los Abrigados Resort & Spa. The series is also made possible by a grant from the Arizona Commission on the Arts and National Endowment for the Arts and the City of Sedona.

“The Narrows” will be shown at Harkins Sedona Six Theatres on Tuesday, April 14 at 4:00 and 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $10, or $8 for Film Sedona members, and will be available starting at 3:00 p.m. that day in the Harkins lobby. A.J. Buckley Talks of CSI: NY Death

A.J did this week a short interview to TV Guide, talking about his role in Supernatural, and also about the CSI:NY finale season.

TVGuide.com: Speaking of things you can’t talk about, let’s discuss the season-finale death that reportedly will “forever change” CSI: NY….
Buckley: Literally, when I found out that something was going down, I didn’t sleep that night. The god’s honest truth is that none of us know [who is being killed off]. We have no idea.

TVGuide.com: You’re saying that at this moment [March 20], nobody on the cast knows who’s dying?
Buckley: Not one person. We have all been buzzing on the set, “Who is getting killed?” It’s created so much anxiety! It could be any one of us. I’m terrified to open up the [season finale] script when we get it in a couple weeks. This is such a family, it will be devastating to see anybody go. No joke, I will cry, I’ll be so bummed.

Exclusive: ‘CSI: NY’ says RIP to one of its own

“That’s right,” says CSI: NY executive producer Peter Lenkov. “We lose a member of our family [in the season finale] — and that’s just in the first 10 minutes.”

The other 50 minutes of the hour will probably be pretty killer, too. Leading up to it is episode 5.22, titled “Yarzheit,” which features not only Lou Grant… er, Ed Asner but also comic legend Shelley Berman. In this one, “Our CSIs find themselves investigating a crime that takes them into the world of racism and bigotry, only to uncover a deep, dark secret that dates back to the Holocaust,” teases Lenkov. “Also in this episode, Mac will learn something about his father he never knew.

“And in the season finale” — which also has Craig T. Nelson winding up his arc — “the CSI: NY team is on the trail of a team of sophisticated kidnappers-turned-cop killers,” he continues. “Their crime will forever change the CSI: NY lineup.”
